Please refer to the Weld County 4-H Scholarship Page for an updated list of scholarships for specific qualifications for each award.
An applicant must:
Be currently enrolled and active in a Weld County 4-H Club. (Exception: College students applying for the Norgren, Ben Wilson, Aurora Organic Dairy, Leaders Council or Youth Executive Council Scholarships.)
Must have completed at least three (3) years of project work immediately prior to current year of enrollment.
Graduating high school seniors will have priority in scholarship selection.
Only one application is required to be considered for all Weld County 4-H scholarships.
Submit a complete application form. Forms are available, beginning January 1st of each year by going to the bulletin board at Weld County 4-H.
An official transcript from the applicant's high school must accompany the application form.
Applications are due online by 11:59 p.m., March 1st.
The Selection Committee will choose winners based on:
4-H project work and 4-H participation (70%)
Scope of 4-H work including involvement beyond the club level. Leadership and community service will be taken into consideration.
Scholastic performance (20%)
School, Community and Extracurricular activities (10%).
To receive payment, the student must attend a post secondary school the fall term or semester immediately following graduation from high school, and must be enrolled in a program leading to a degree or professional certification.
Immediately after completion of registration in a certified post secondary school, the student should notify the Extension Office and is entitled to payment as outlined below.
A proof of registration form (provided if a scholarship is awarded) must be mailed to Scholarship Administrator, Weld County Extension Office. For Scholarships above $500, proof of registration forms must be sent at the beginning of each (Fall and Spring) semester.
If you meet all qualifications, payment will be made to the Financial Aid Office at your college or university. Scholarships not exceeding $500 will be paid in one installment during Fall term. Scholarships over $500 will be paid in two equal installments, with one payment in the Fall and one payment in the Spring.
