Julie Ochsner was raised on a diversified grain and farrow to finish swine operation near Blue Hill, Nebraska. She was a 10-year 4-H member and was very active in FFA, serving as the Nebraska State FFA President in 1988-89 and the 1990-91 National FFA Vice President.
After graduating from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business, she worked as a sales representative for Elanco Animal Health before she and her husband, Kevin, started their family and made their home in Kersey, Colorado.
Together they have raised three children, Caitlyn, Ashlyn and Collin, who were all active members of the Weld County 4-H program. Over the past 30 years, she and her family have worked together to build a registered Limousin and Lim-Flex seedstock operation and a direct-to-consumer beef business.
In addition to helping with the family operation and managing beef sales, Julie works for Progressive Beef, a Great Bend, Kansas, based company, providing training, compliance and auditing services for feedyards in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Washington and Wyoming.
